Hey, what happened to the college boats? Assuming the River comes up again, will you be running a River Ramble in 2007 or 2008?

  2. ancadelaide Says:

Hello Jacob. We have been talking to PS Marion about the possibility of a River Ramble during the term 3 school holidays but nothing has firmed up as yet. Bouc

Removed my Blogs what have you got to hide?

  4. Jacob Says:

What happened to the boats? Simple question isn’t it?

To Oscar, Some people like working in a very dynamic and exciting environment. It is not the time, it is the benefit of living life to the full.

  6. ancadelaide Says:

To Jacob, The boats exist. The problem is the people are not prepared to book a place in the program – not enough bookings – no go. Negative comments are of no value Jacob.

  7. Jacob Says:

OK, understood, why have you taken the boats off the site? if you’re lacking bookings, it would seem a retrograde step to not even promote the assets that you have. Secondly if you’re not getting bookings perhaps you need to advertise beyond the website? What do other clubs/associations/colleges do to attact people to their courses or events? If things are getting cancelled through lack of interest you must be doing something wrong. It’s not through lack of money, the economy is booming, boat sales are booming, there are plenty of punters out there.

Jacob, one of the problems associated with the process of registration as an RTO and as a school is the very strict requirements relating to ethical advertising. On the one hand registration agencies want evidence of client interest in programs and on the other they demand that the new service provider does not advertise that they can provide the service until registration is in place. Our registration as an RTO in our own right is not yet in place. We act as a franchisee of Australian Boating College for the boat license course, as a contractor for Royal Life Saving Society Senior First Aid, as an invigilator for Marine Radio Examinations and we have been a Yachting Australian Recognised Training Centre for over 30 years.

I expect our RTO registration to be in place by July 2007 and Senior High School Registration to be in place by January 2008. In the mean time it is much safer legally to not advertise – hence Hen and the Egg.

Hello Oscar. Life was not meant to be easy. Slow progress is occuring but when one deals with several Government agancies it is almost immossible to move forward quickly. Oh for a committee of one.

  10. ancadelaide Says:

No Oscar. I am the Captain. You may like to watch Brat Camp on ABC TV Thursdays at 8:30. Do you have a solution for young people who need assistance to move towards adult reality? Our community seems to have too many lost souls within the 15 to 20 age group. YES I will use the magic of Harry Potter.

  11. ancadelaide Says:

    Thank you Oscar.

  12. ancadelaide Says:

No Oscar, just a very slow process to negotiate the shoals.

  13. ancadelaide Says:

Hello Oscar. It is pleasing to know that you continue to watch the ANC website. As I previously indicated, dealing with Government agencies all takes time. Keep watching. You will be very pleased when you see it all open up.

    [b] MORAL CORAGE [\b]
“The Stars have provided guidance and inspiration over thousands of years for nautical people. This is more than a coincidence. Throughout history successful people have learned by experience that there is a dimension to leadership that is essential to real effectiveness. This is the spiritual factor, the wonder, the magic, the intangible quality we call moral courage and strength.
The Magic of the “ANC Follow the Guiding Stars Program” strives to fulfil this aspect of a balanced life. To foster personal growth and promote the moral development of Cadets within the tenants of their particular faith or beliefs, business people, services personnel, religious and retired professionals are invited to serve as College Mentors to guide the spiritual needs of students through pastoral care. Among other things, they provide personal counselling, ranging from study techniques, coping with life changing events, faith-centred issues, crises of life and death or depression to relationships and future marriage plans.
